The Queensland Government Pavilion at the 2008 Ekka was a huge success!
Twenty six government agencies displayed in this year's pavilion, with plenty of informative and interactive activities for the whole family to enjoy.
The pavilion was full of colour and excitement, and included current Queensland Government initiatives, with a main focus on Climate Change.
Visitors to the pavilion were encouraged to:
- discover simple ways to save water, energy and money.
- get hands-on with our interactive activities; and
- learn more about key Queensland Government ClimateSmart initiatives.
Visitors were also invited to enter a competition to win an ecotourism holiday to O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat.
The winner of this competition has been drawn. Congratulations to Louise Dennis of Caboolture. Louise and her family have won a relaxing holiday to O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat, including, 3 nights accommodation in a two bedroom canopy suite with stunning views to the mountain. Buffet breakfast, a la carte lunch and a three course dinner each day. Participation in a daily guided interpretive activities program, as well as activities such as rainforest walks, 4WD bus excursions, adventure activities, spotlighting and glow worm tours.
